Can we all agree that rules are rules, that there are acceptable work-arounds ("male," "female") for those who prefer other words, and that the discussion is about Plymouth Rocks? (ducking)

The words I use are nothing more than a way to communicate with other breeders, that’s the point. The birds those words represent (not just K, C, but hackle, saddle, coverts etc) is the only thing that has a bearing on the stock I produce. Also, I’m not embarrassed by the birds that pop out of my eggs.Actually, I doubt very seriously if the words you use about your breeding have any bearing whatsoever on the stock you produce. If so, you all would have show birds popping out of every egg. Proper terminology has it's place........., when explaining something technical to those in the same profession,
No need to "spell it out" - if you don't care for what we have asked folks to adhere to in this section, move on.Let me spell it out for you...
I highly recommend this book, best Barred Rock section out there. Good Columbian and Silver Penciled section too."The Mating and Breeding of Poultry", Harry M. Lamon abd Rob R. Slocum ... 1920....
there's a reason it's still in print
Have a great one
I have Duckworth line BR, new this year. I am looking forward to processing the cockerels, because I believe that this line would be represenative of what can be accomplished in terms of meat qualities for a true heritage breed. Out of respect for the new forum organization, which thread(s) would be the most appropriate thread(s) for these pictures and discussion? This group would know the most about BR and breeding BR, but I am not so sure what the interest would be in this discussion.
Thanks,
Mark
