What a nice breeding pair here. Now, Ken. We want information on the line. Hope you don't mind giving us some details. You're a man a few words, but we need some background.

1. At what age do the pullets begin to lay?

2. Are they faster to feather than the Barred Rocks you have?

3. How would you "rate" the egg laying? 3 eggs per week, 4 eggs per week, or 5 eggs per week, when they're laying strong.

I am curious as well....Also, have you seen broodiness with this line? Hatchability?

When are we gonna see more pix of your Golden Group?

I have shared the golden group with 2 different breeder friends locally in AZ, as I cannot keep a mature male (crowing) at my place....frustrating to no end...until we can relocate....desertmarcy (about 2 hours away from me-she's got GSBR's too) and maryhysong (about 90 minutes from me) have 6 pullets and 4 cockerels between them. I have put in a request to get some photos...as soon as I get some photos from them, I will post.
I kept the largest and most typey pullet back, which I will get bred by a male of my choosing when she matures. She is indeed lovely even at 15 weeks....she is getting her main tail in right now...only a lone feather currently. I have waited to get profile photos due to this. Still some pin feathering in areas as well...Her topline I feel will be correct pending tail furnishing...no cushion issue as of yet, width and length of back excellent, plenty of keel depth, nice wide head and comb too, nice yellow shanks and feet, station is good...I'd like to see a bit more width between her legs.

Photos of her forthcoming in next few days

I do have this one shot I took of her a few days ago with my iphone while enjoying some 'chicken t.v.'.

nice cindy . how old are they now .

Ken, thanks for the information.

I WANT a White Rock to "appear" small, by today's standards. Bob always said they were dense and weighed more than they appeared. That's the result of good feathering. I don't personally want the ginormous birds that win the shows these days. I want a traditional, weight to Standard, White Rock. I'm so excited to be on your egg list for spring. Geeked.

They should feather in quick and be great layers as Bob pushed them for that. To me? These are White Rocks. 4-5 eggs a week is outstanding. Can't wait.

Cindy, this is exactly why folks need partners. You folks, working together, will do these birds proud. I am so happy you have those great partners to help you.

Wonderful.
