The Precious gets a friend...or not *pg. 8 w/ pics*

Oh Man!! Now I've done it.

first mistake: Using a clear plastic brooder that The precious can see out of. He screams when I leave the room. Screams when he wants me to put my hand in the brooder. Screams when he wants to be picked up.

Second mistake: responding diligently to the screams to pacify the little monster. Screams when I leave the room turn to happy little peeps when he sees me come back. Happy little peeps when I put my hand in the brooder followed by snuggles under my fingers. And when I pick him up, he crawls up my sleeve or in my pocket and makes happy peeps until he falls asleep.

Who could resist that?! If we didn't already know the precious was a monster to begin with, I'd say that I was creating one.

IDK,i just thinks thats annoying, yet adorable at the same time...i cant wait to get my first batch of chicks in a couple months, one of em' is gunna be a silky,im doooomed!!lol, cant wait to see wat mine will be like,im going to have a wire rabbit cage,so idk....keep us updated,he sounds sooo, well,PRECIOUS!

Oooh! A baby sling!! What a great idea! Where do I get one? Do I have to make it?

Actually that would come in handy. I'm always nursing baby animals in the spring...bunnies, puppies, birds, chipmunks. My vet always sends me the little critters people bring in. Baby sling sounds much better than sports bra. Nuff said.

Just wear a shirt with a pocket. That's about all the room you need...Your wife might get a bit jealous, Griff, just warning you. My hubby thinks I love the chickens more than him sometiimes

Don't let anyone else see The Precious' eyes...remember, the soul will be stolen and you definitely DO NOT want that responsibility!!!

I'm actually a girl, Laskaland, and I don't have a wife.

Though I routinely remind my SO that the chickens (and dogs) are a non negotiable part of my life and if its too much for him now, it will be too much in 20 years. So far he's stuck around, but then I've only just begun.

Just wondering....are young children especially susceptible to their evil spell? My son (6 years old) is begging for a Silkie, and he's very upset that I didn't order any today. I ordered 10 chicks...these are our first chicks and he's already upset about no Poodle Chickens (as he calls them)...

Now that I've see these pics, I might have to change my order.....now Mommy wants the precious silkies
