Especially when things are plumb. Adding the floor joists. You can start to see the overhang for the chickens take shape. My helper laying the floor. The floor is down and two walls framed. The right side will be the roost and left side will be storage for feed etc.

Jun 2, 2011 Thread starter #26 bullington In the Brooder 8 Years May 12, 2011 41 0 22 It is hard to get free standing poles set in concrete and plumb. Exhibit A Getting the roost outside wall framed. The horizontal studs are for framing the poop board access holes. Cutting a hole in a perfectly good wall. This is where the chickens will access the roost room. My building inspectors making sure stuff is level. Looking from the inside out..

My son, Chicken Little (our runt), and remnants of chocolate doughnut Outside wall up with 3' X 3' hole for window.. It is facing east so it will get them up early and working on my eggs. Why didn't you use the chain link panels for a run? They work great and, with a skirt and top, are nearly predator proof Last edited: Jun 2, 2011
