Can't wait to go get my hens in a few minutes. I know that feeling with the dogs. I have 3 dogs, and they have yet to meet the chickens. I KNOW the Shepherd will be VERY interested in them...I'm planning an introduction later today using the e-collar. I want to keep her from running around the run stalking them. She has some serious herding instincts. The Pomeranian will likely ignore them...the chihuahua/jack russell will only want their food! LOL

We have 5 Rhode Island Reds and they are the best natured of the 3 breeds we have. So sweet and more adventurous than the others! We call my daughter's friend (pictures here with one), the Chick Whisperer!

I have a wonderful RIR, somewhere she has an araucana gene so she looks like a RIR but lays blue/green eggs. I might upload some pics soon!

I had a RIR, and she kicked the crap out of my little white legorn, Ophelia. I have had HUGE problems with them in the past, and I don't plan on ever getting any again. She was super sweet to people, you know, the kind that will fly u and sit on your arm type, but otherwise she was a real pain and we had to get rid of her. My friend raises RIRs and says that they are INCEREDIBLY aggressive and seriously wound each other.
