Pics

OK... here is what the chicks looked like at 24 hrs old
In order across the top are Blue, Purple 1, Yellow 1, Purple 2
Across the bottom Yellow 2, Pullet, Yellow 3

I am having trouble posting pics today, so may have to do this in multiple posting to follow...

They are 5 weeks old now... here is Blue Boy

Here is Purple Boy1

I like the coloring on Purple boy 1. He is much lighter then Blue boy. The tail on Purple boy 1 is a lot lighter. Blue boy has similar coloring to the pullet. Blue boy is very similar to what my Rhodie looked like when he was younger.

In looking at the pics I don't think Blue Boy is as dark as he looks in the picture. A little darker than the two purple, but not much. I think the pic is misleading because he isn't near as dark as the pullet.
Blue boy is a slightly larger boy, bigger bodies. Purple 1 and 2 look identical (I don't think I bothered getting a pic of 2 for that reason).
So when I referred to "dark" and "light", by the time they were a week old I had two obvious color groupings... But all 6 should be double barred. White boy (not picture) is a runt. In general the three darker boys are also the larger more mature boys which is kinda funny.
The RIR person in me is having trouble getting over the bad tail sets on all of them. LOL.

I hate Rhodie's tail, lol. Rhodie came from stock that came from GFF and I am seriously doubting he is double barred. I guess I will find out come winter but either way he is all I have to use so it will just take me a bit longer to get to where I want to be with my Rhodebar flock. He does have a decent comb and nice colored legs. His back isn't as long or wide as I would like but my HRIR should add to that. His wing position isn't to bad either.

When was he born. Do you have a current pic of him?

He is about the same age as my HRIR give or take a week or two, so hatched out in Feb.

This is a pic of when I got him so maybe 3 weeks old

This is him today about 19 (+/-). Sorry for the lousy pic but it is raining out and they are in a covered run.

Surprising how similar the males turned out with the exception of the first male and the last male Dark vs Light. Very nice, thanks for taking the time to grab some pics. And beautiful dog in the background supervising!!!!!
