There is more you could do with it, but it would kind of take away from the 'clan' theme...
Though WC already has quite a few birds against them, I guess this new clan could be wanting to get rid of Wingclan for 1) Drastically different religious or moral beliefs (you'd have to elaborate on that), 2) Because of Wingclan's still very fertile land, and 3), because they felt like it.
Early SC was not so bad in the days of MC. Not even gore-wise. They were just rivals, who were not fun to deal with when angered, which happened often.
