I just gave the best rooster award to my rooster ROO lol
I love him! He never wants to be touched or petted but is super respectful of his human caregivers he's never corralled us or pecked or anything. He will eat out of my hand and trusts us alot.
he's also super patient with his girls, he's not perfect but he nearly is.
I shot a video capturing him wooing one of his girls in the nesting box. LOL
My rooster is a jerk, but I love him! Although he and I fight, I KNOW he would lay down his life to protect his flock!
I've dedicated a blog to my tussles with him, but he's proven himself time and again with his ability to manage our little flock. I guess I don't need him to be affectionate, I need him to be good at his job.
He's a three year old Australorp and when he first went aggressive on us we seriously considered dispatching him ... so glad we didn't!
I LOVE ALL ROOS EVEN IF THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY EVIL, I REALLY WANT TO MEET A SUPER MEAN ROOSTER SO I CAN HOLD HIM AND TELL HIM TO BE A GOOD BOY!!!! lol
Im weird! as you can seeeeeeeeee........
I got an accidental cockerel in my chick order. He is just a kid yet at about 7 weeks old.
We cannot keep him being in town. I am not so sure I would want to either. He is a black Australorp.
I call him Jerkface Jake. He already bows up at the Brahma pullet and has standoffs with the dog through the fence. Yup he is a Jerkface.
