Need help!

Aww I'm sorry to hear your little chick isn't doing well. :(

I'm not sure I'm really seeing what is wrong with the feet. The foot on the right of the picture looks fairly normal to me, I'm not sure what I'm looking at with the other. Are the toes on the foot pictured to the left slightly curled/curved so the little one isn't walking normally on it? If so you could try a little band aid boot to try to help straighten the toes (the boot would have to be changed every couple days until the toes have straightened).

As far as the blood goes has the chick been picking at its own toes? I've had silkie chicks that get the down on their feet a bit messy and it bothers them so they start really picking at the down on their feet until the mess is gone (I usually help them by gently rinsing their feet in warm water to get any stuck poo off). I think I've only had one chick that picked at the feathers so much they bled (was a bit older than your baby, maybe a week or so). I can't remember exactly how I handled it, I think I ended up putting on some band aid boots just so the chick couldn't pick at the toes anymore for a couple days. If I'm remembering right it did pick a bit when I removed them but it tapered off completely within a few days of removing the boots.

I'm sorry I'm not able to be more help, maybe you'd get some more responses/suggestions posting in Emergencies/diseases/ injuries and care or raising baby chicks? I hope you are able to figure the problem out and your little one gets better soon!

So 14 out of 15 hatched last Sunday!:celebrate
I was suppose to have some lavenders (I ordered them anyway), but I do not think any of them are now looking closer at their colors and comparing to photos online. First time hatching and having silkies. They are the sweetest!:love
Please help if you can all you experienced silkie owners!
I have six that I thought were lavender, but now I am pretty sure are white. Four that are blue or grey.
One partridge, one buff, one black, and one that I think is calico.
Here are the photos:
Lavenders, but likely white:

And yes, they are six different chicks!

Next the 4 blues/greys:

Lastly the suspected calico, both photos, same chick, she is a little more tan than appears in the first photo:

THANK YOU FOR ANY FEEDBACK! Love the silkies!:love

Aww what cuties, congratulations on such a great hatch!

I'm not sure I'm much help as I haven't ever hatched lavenders but I will say those little ones don't look much like the whites I've hatched. From what I've seen gold based white babies have more yellow/buff tone mixed in the down than your little ones and silver based white babies have more of a smokey grey mixed in.

The closest to the color of your little lavender/whites I've seen are splash babies. My guess is they will either be splash or lavender rather than white but I could definitely be wrong. It seems like it can be really hard identifying color by chick down, especially in light colored chicks since a lot of them look very similar.

I can't wait to see how your little cuties grow out, it'll be interesting to see what color they end up as! :)
