I was planning to purchase silkie chicks from a website called mypetchicken.com. I wanted to because They offer day old pullets. Just wanted to know, how accurate do you think their sexing methods are? And are their silkies good quality? Thanks.

I can't really help with personal experience either unfortunately since I've never ordered.

I did see some threads about it on here though and skimmed through. They mentioned they vent sex and it seems like it was fairly accurate for those ordering most of the time. I know most hatcheries won't offer sexed bantams as with vent sexing the chance of injury or even death through the process is increased due to the small size.

I've heard mypetchicken is more of a middle man. Maybe if you contacted them to see which hatchery they would send the silkies from to your location you could better look into what quality they might be since you could look up that hatcheries silkies?

I have never got any from them but I have heard that they have had mixed reviews, mostly good but a few negatives so it is up to you, good luck with what you choose!

So I went to TSC and they had bantam chicks. There were 2 unlike the others and the guy gave me both. There were no others in their shipment... One was a silkie...

Meet Chubs obsessed with this fat little chunker. It's so cuddly and mellow. Are all silkies like that with their personalities because if so, I'm going to have many more in my future
