The Sizzle Thread!

Hi,

I need help, I have just stumbled across these adorable little guys via a local breeder. I want to get my gf one for x-mas but infomation is sparse at best online so I am looking for some advice/info.

Also please dont take my ignorance on the subject as a sign of an unresponsible pet owner, my gf is also a trained vet tech. But I do need info, everyone needs to start somewhere.

Are they good indoors? Friendly? Generally a good pet?

Thanks in advance
Where are you located? I have many chicks available for sale right now.

ok I would love some advice...I got 2 sizzle chicks last dec 1 is smooth and one curly. I love them and as I recall the lady said that she was working on her 12th generation....
I have both a silkie and a curly frizzle roo. I think the curly sizzle should be bred back to the silkie where as the smooth sizzle could be bred with the curled friz roo. Are those the best matches to make myself more of the loveable adorable sizzle? I am just afraid to breed curly to curly for risk of brittle..frazzled feathers. any advice is much appreciated Thanks

Yup you got it right :) put your smooths and your silkies with the frizzled roo. And your silkies or smooth roo's with your frizzled hens. And you will get a 50/50 mix of frizzle and smooth but u shouldn't get any brittle feathers:) good luck and happy hatching!!

Newly hatched sizzle, went into incubator 12/7/13 at 10 pm, hatched 12/27 at 2 pm. First sizzle to hatch. incubated with 9 eggs, 4 sizzle (1 seems to be nonviable), 4 silkie (1 unfertilized), and 1 sultan. Black skin, 5 toes on left and maybe on right but can't quite see that foot yet, kind of a grey splash and at this point is frizzling! Oh so happy!

Another 3 eggs are pipping, at least 1 more sizzle and at least 1 silkie.

OK cool! Will look for the feathers. Right now it looks like it has just gotten a perm! Feathers are in every direction....lol. Tooo Cute! We will love them all, frizzled or not.

Oh my, they are soo pretty! Very nice! Do you name them? We called the first one "chicken nugget" because he's a little fluff ball running around the incubator but so tiny and silly! The next sizzle is pipping now, has a little zip line
