The Sizzle Thread!

You'll have to see how they turn out. Can't tell whose curly until wing feathers come in. And you'll want an unrelated roo too. Lol. Lots to think about. Gives you a reason to get a few babies from someone else too! ;)

Oh I'll keep them all till they r close breeding age. And u r NOT helping my boyfriend out at all!!! Lol I was just sitting here wondering if I'd really be able to wait til they r old enough to breed and lay, or if I should get a few older ones also! :)

They take usually 6 months+ to lay. It takes a while. And some roosters take a while to learn how to do "the deed". Depending on how feathered the feet and around the eyes are. They aren't the most coordinated. :p

LMBO!!!! Hilarious!!!! Ok. So all the more reason I need a few older birds. Maybe a Frizzled Cochin roo and a Silkie hen?? Lol

Do it! If its a good breeder with good looking breeders they'll probably (hopefully) have a lot to choose from. Older birds don't sell as fast, so they may have some 4-12 week olds too. ;) You won't regret it when you're hatching your own babies.

Lol. Yeah i started last spring by buying 6 chicks from TSC. I've hatched 10, & gotten rid of all 15 of those 16, cause I decided i wanted to raise Buff Orpington. So right now I have 9 in my big coop and picking up 6 more babies for it next week, 2 turkeys, picking up 9 babies today to start my bantam coop we almost have done, and have 3 1/2 dozen eggs in the bator, 8 of which r turkey eggs.

I have hatched a few sizzle eggs that were ordered from a breeder. I have several obvious "frizzled" sizzle chicks and a few that have Silkie feathering. Do I describe them as Silkie sizzles? "Smooth" sizzles have normal feathering, right? Like a Cochins feathers?
