Just out of curiosity... i have some laying hens(2 goldenlaced wyndottes, 1 silverlaced and 1 welsummer ) in a separate coop in my backyard... a mating between, say the silverlaced wyndotte and him... would pass on the frizzle gene....but what would that create ? From my understanding ....cochin is what breeders use to cross with? Because of similar traits like feathered feet, plus they are small?
At this point... I don't know if he would even be able to mate...he's young(6months) and is afraid of the older regular hens. He's a little larger than a pure silkie.....is it physically possible for a small roo to mate a large hen? Thanks for your time...
