The Sizzle Thread!

not splash, they look like either incomplete silver partridge or incomplete columbian. they will change a bunch as they grow and their pattern can get much crisper as they mature. hold on to them and see what one they look closest to when they are full grown. beautys by the way :)

Pictures, please?

Well, I would. But I woke up this morning to the tiny one dead and 1 of its 3 brothers and sisters very weak and VERY poofy!! :/ Its been really dry, then rained a lot yesterday. I'm thinking Cocci cause the poofy chick. Grrrr

Wow! I think you've sold me on smooths! I always pick out the frizzled ones but that is one cute chick. I'm getting hatching eggs this weekend; hopefully ill get a super cute smooth! And my sizzle laid her first egg a few days ago. I just need the boys to start doing their jobs ;)

My juvenile boy is doing his job now, his girls just won't lay!!! Lol

If I breed a smooth sizzle to a frizzled silkie, what will I get?
This is a frizzled silkie, isn't it?

I can't really tell if the silkie is frizzled, but you'd probably get 1/2 silkie and 1/2 sizzle, and depending on if it is frizzled or not, either all smooth feather (if the pictured silkie is not frizzled) or 1/2 frizzle 1/2 smooth. I haven't seen enough frizzled silkies to be able to really tell or not if they are frizzle - sorry!

Betting you are right on this and I am wrong about the splash!

I hope it's ok to post this question here . I posted in breed//gender but no responses yet.I know nothing about frizzles or sizzles ! I'm just a few months into owning silkies actually . I'm wanting to add a frizzle or sizzle bird to my flock of bantams but I need to add a pullet (not allowed have roosters even tho I thing I have a young silkie roo currently ) Anyway all that to ask if this one looks like a roo,it's 20/21 weeks old now. Owner said they aren't sure of gender .
