Anyone up to seeing my 'frilkie' who I have entered into the show this weekend just for fun. He's neat looking, and I like conversation starters. I do not expect him to do well

They are like silkies for sexing. The combs are hard to differentiate, especially since your bird has such dark skin. I'd guess girl. If you'd take a picture of her comb, I'd be able to tell more![]()
Oh and never judge a bird by posture. I had (gave her away to a friend) a girl that would stand very erect like a rooster, even at a week old. My boys usually don't stand erect until they are older either. I do notice boys will play fight a lot more frequently than the girls.
I sure hope you are right.. love this Sizzle but surely dont need more roosters lol! This is my latest picture of "her"looks like girl there lil easier to sex then silkies
Whoops! I forgot to hit the quote button when I replied. My msg. above was about the post & Sizzle pic by Feathersprings. Is that one of mine? I saw her picture on Calif. Poultry but the pic was too small to really do her justice. I would definitely say "she" but I'm not sure I agree with chickendales about the Sizzles being easier to sex than the Silkies. At least the Silkie roos have the spikey feathers at the back of the crest that gives them away. The Sizzles don't have those.
Anyway, she looks very nice. I have a few young roosters that would go well with her. I have 2 smooth Sizzles - 1 dark blue & 1 splash, & I also have a couple of roos that look like pure Silkies but I can tell from the thickness of the feathers that they carry the Sizzle gene. You're welcome to any of them.
