The Sizzle Thread!

Pics
I wonder if the black one carries khaki. seems that I am getting khaki when I cross this certain roo with splash and I'm not sure if I get it with any other cross.

The ones I got from you are also Khaki colored. Well at least 3 of the 4 are. The 4th one is black. I love the color of them.

I sure hope you are right.. love this Sizzle but surely dont need more roosters lol! This is my latest picture of "her" :) I will take a comb shot today to post...Thank you for your guesses.... Also about breeding.. is it best to breed back to a silkie.. I think I read not to breed back to a frizzled bird? Is that right?
Breed her back to a silkie :) Still pretty sure on it being a girl.

A lot of mine turned up the same colour. I sold all of my rough feathered and smooth birds besides 2 smooth girls and a rough rooster.

This is the boy I kept :D I favoured the colouring and the comb over the skin colour for now. I only had one rough feathered bird with black skin, and the comb was single, so I kept the above guy. Hopefully bred back to my silkie girls - the skin colour will improve.

Interesting. I do plan on breeding all of my sizzles to my silkies. I wanted to breed them to each other but since they are all boys that would be difficult. I also have some cochins that I might breed to. Wonder what I would get if I do that??...

Oh yes. My male was black with brown in the hackles and he gave off either cream or khaki babies with random black feathers and random laced feathers - but he was bred to a buff laced mother.

Nice, our sizzle rooster spike has had several babies lately, but we can't keep them :( But i'm exited, I may get to see two of his chicks from the first ones he hatched soon!

Hello everyone, I just hatched out my very first chick from my adult chickens and I unknowingly may end up with a sizzle. So here is the picture of "Sylvester" who's dad is a white frizzled cochin and mom a black silkie. I hope it has the feathers, but it is awfully cute either way. Love everyone's pictures. These are the funniest, cutest, and I am sure the sweetest type of birds out there :)

Quick snap in my grow out pen. The Partridge is a reg. Silkie, her earlobe isn't white, they were just dusted before I snapped the pic. The other two are F5/F6 Sizzles. Their curls are "droopy" due to the rain. Sorry for the bad pics I only had my cell cam when I was out in the pens yesterday.

Three young pullets 12-ish weeks old ( I need to check my books lol)

I have a few more like her in the brooder from a repeat breeding

How winter hardy are sizzles? I might have to put a lamp in for my phoenixes anyways, but it does get very cold here and I know that silkies aren't good in the winter at all.

AF chick, how did you get that black and white one? Like what breeding? We had a chick we bought at a day old almost that same color that was killed and I'd love to be able to breed another

My niece cried when she found out a coon got him. Miss him dearly
