The Sizzle Thread!

you can breed your rough sizzle to either silkie feathered or ideally, to a smooth sizzle. by breeding to silkie, over time, you will have so much silkie blood for unbarbed feathering that you will produce mostly silkie feathered or frizzle silkie feathering.
on the silkie feathered bird if it has no frizzling, then I would probably not keep it in a sizzle breeding program unless you have rough sizzle hens but eventually you will have the problem above with too much silkie blood and getting mostly silkie feathering.

I have two sizzles. One is the typical sizzle and the other is silkie feathered. They are both roosters. What should I get to breed with them?

This is the only Sizzle out of a hatch a couple months ago. What color should you call him/her?

My silkie x frizzle rooster looked very similar colour to that.

Then his adult feathers came in red just where I believe a partridge roosters would. Would never have guessed that chick would have ended up looking like him would you :)

I think all of mine had some partridge back in their line somewhere.

Thanks! Now to get some smooth feathered girls.

So out of curiosity would that mean mine (transformation pics above)could also be called blue partridge???

I'm trying to rehome him (**** neighbors) and if I knew his color its more info to put into the search terms.

In also assuming because he didn't get the rosé comb and it turned from black to red I would still call him a frizzle not a sizzle? He is half silkie though and got everything but the comb.

I would label him as a pet quality partridge sizzle. He has the dark skin and a bit of a crest, but the comb is all wrong. He could still be used to breed sizzles, but it would require a lot of culling as the straight comb is a dominant trait.
