Eww! Our problem is located solely to the basement now so that should be a 'cleansing' I will gladly miss, lol. We did have a bit of a problem upstairs, but it's under control now, but be super careful of your dogs ingesting any fleas. Turns out before we got rid of the upstairs problem both the dog and 1 cat ingested at least one and wound up with tapeworm. Treating the dog was easy, but forcing a cat to down 2 pills? Yeah, in cat terms of evil stares, I would be so dead right now. It's amazing she never tried to wash anything in her special kitty rinse, if you know what I mean.

LOL! We had a cat that was HUGE. He was a 32 pounder, named Sprite... Talk about a monster cat. You could put your hand on his head and neither of his ears would be touching your fingers... Yeah... big big guy... ANYWAY! He used to get mad at my Dad for things and he'd not leave a kitty shower... NOPE. That would have been too tame.. No, he'd leave cat logs on my Dads easy chair. Love cats... LOL... But with the size of this cat, it was like a 3 year old pooped on the chair... Oh... yeah... LOL

32 pounds? What did you feed that guy? LOL
But then, our Mia is a 17 pound siamese....but, oh, you just have to love squeezing a big, poofy cat. You just have to overlook the death glares with that, too.

I had a siamese cat when I was a teen (he was huge, too) that did give me the kitty rinse treatment after being left to his own devices without me for a week when I went on my high school band trip. Needless to say, that closet smelled oh-so-special for quite some time.

Ah... So Coco Chanel has completely ditched the chicks even during the day now. She would look after them a bit during the day, but now she is not watching them at all. NOT ONE BIT. Well, I put a light in the coop for them. They've still a need for heat since no mama is there to wing them. Poor little cuties. Criptoe is being nice to them also. She will no longer attack them when they get too close to her nest. They do not try and get in her nest anymore though either.

Skeeter's manage to get her chick and herself out of the brooder box... And her chick is super tiny. I have no idea how the chick got out either. Well anyway, they both were out, so I guess that means she'd tired of her confinement. I am not sure the chick is going to grow so much. It still looks as little as the day it was born, but it is running around mama, and she's very, very protective. They are still in the garage though. She hasn't moved back to the coop yet. I am guessing by the end of this week, she will be back out there, two weeks is about her normal time before returning to the flock. I seriously need to clean the garage before the weather changes much more.

Skatter, my green egg laying bantam, laid her egg as nromal this morning. I found her in the nest box tonight with a soft egg. I guess I won't get my green egg tomorrow. Poor thing. Wonder what caused her glitch. She's about 15 months old... I hope this was a one time/sporadic thing. Her egg this morning did look quite small, and that one was shelled just right. Nice consistent color today too...

Any hoo... Hope everyone had a nice day today.

I don't know. He was lovely. You would now when he was mad because his normally bluish eyes would turn burgundy. Not kidding. I will go through the photo albums and find pictures of this guy. I have one on my fridge right now of him and a normal sized cat both eating side by side. LOL. We have a 20 pounder right now, and a 15 pounder. Brothers. My dad picked them up out of the middle of the road down Diamond Springs way. Some back side hole dumped them. Well anyway, my dad picked them up shortly before Sprite had a series of strokes that paralyzed him. I don't knwo what my dad does to cats, but he grows them BIG. And not just fat either. These suckers have some HUGE paws. I hate the idea of declawing, but I can honestly say that I was glad they were... That was done before I knew what declawing entailed... Oh, and he was a Siam of some sort... A very odd sort...

I usually use 7 watts because they're cheaper. I don't think an LED would work as well. I'm not sure if it's the light or the heat they've after. LEDS don't give out much heat. And put a couple drops of dish soap in the water, too.
swampducks, do you use a regular 4 or 7 watt nightlight or an l.e.d one?

Ahh. Just stopped to say hi, having bator troubles. Did a quick candle, and i don't recognize what i'm seeing......I will leave them be for now, but they may have fried when i was out today. :( DH didn't know what to do, and didn't think to CALL me :(

That's it, thanks Olive. I think the fogger I used was Hot Shot. They have 2 versions now, the one with and one without permethrin. I could only find the one with it at Home Depot. But I don't have a lot of places to shop in Alpena.
Swamp -- You're probably of thinking of Permethrin. I don't know how available it is in bomb form (never had a need for it) but you can buy it as a concentrate in just about any farm store and I'd wager that's probably the cheapest way to get your hands on it. Pretty much anything made for specifically for pets is always marked up more so than the same product for livestock.

We have a 20 pounder right now, and a 15 pounder.
That's what makes it so funny about our cats. Mia is 17 pounds and Morris is a scrawny 7 pounds. No clue why she's so huge and he's not. My DH finds it funny that the 2 siamese I have ever owned (my Mecah was one, too) are fat and not skinny like siamese are supposed to be. Oh well, give me a poofy huge kitty any day.

Oh, and I know all about the burgundy eyes.
