The Sussex thread!

I am scrapping the plan of breeding Light Sussex and have put my last trio up for auction here and on EggBid. Even with my new guard geese the hawks are still after the light Sussex. They are just too bright and shiny against the green lawn.

Perhaps Bonnie and Clyde, my guard geese, need a good talking-to about staying alert while on duty!

Oh I am sorry that you are having to give them up. What chickens don't attract the hawks? You are right though, they are bright and shiny

Their white would blend right in to my lawn .... covered in snow!

I think you do need to talk to those guard geese! Maybe you need to take them to obedience training!

BTW .... those geese are just gorgeous lawn ornaments!

But, I paid $300 for working geese.

They are supposed to be looking UP not at their own backsides!

A big redtail hawk sailed right over the yard today and they missed it because they were grooming!

OH ... so they have already been through obedience training! I see .... Hmmm, they must have missed a class or two. (Or they flunked out!)

I guess I'll have to put Annie back in charge!

That might work! Annie looks quite studious. Surely she can pass the class! Can she honk like a goose, to scare off the hawks? I think that is in the first or second lesson of that class. Heck, maybe she can teach those loser geese a thing or two!
