I don't think I've ever even heard of Silver Penciled PR's! The kinda have the same look in the face and neck as the silver sussex huh...

sorry I posted on wrong thread and deleted it here, sorry folks

Some more pictures of some of my speckleds! These are not from a hatchery and I have 42 eggs in the incubator that are due to hatch on the 28th

Just re-banded my coronation flock. They are HUGE and only 4 months old, I took new pics, I'll post in a bit

I had to use size 14 (turkey size) on some of the coronations!

Your Coro's really look nice. I have some POL pullets( split light/coro) that really really look nice. I am expecting great things from them. I wish I could post pictures on the site. Maybe some day I will learn. My wife and I did one time but I need to learn how to do it myself.

Scott, it is very easy to post pictures ..... come on, wanna see them!

My Coronations and Lights have started to lay now. I suppose I should pen them, but I just have them in the Layer's Coop, and they are quite happy there. I have 8 Coro, 8 Split-to-Coro, and 3 Light Sussex out there. I also have 11 more Sussex in the brooder, including Silver Sussex-splits and 1 Buff Sussex.

I really love these Sussex birds!

Kathyinmo,

You have Delwares, too, don't you? How do you like the Sussex personality compared to the Dels? I have Sussex currently, and I have Delawares on order.

Delaware personality is one not matched by any, I believe.

My Delawares are a pain in the butt .... they are like puppies that want to sit on my lap all the time! If I sit down at the picnic table, they jump up on me. If I don't sit down, they are under foot at all times. They are absolutely the friendliest birds you can imagine. Honestly, I love them to pieces!

My Sussex are calm and adventurous. They do not eat out of my hand, like the Delawares, but they are always very near when I go outside. They will great me at the door and follow me around, but they don't jump up on me, like the Delawares do.

I love the way you describe the Delaware, and I can't wait to get mine! I have mostly Sussex (red, light, buff, speckled, and silver) but I'm trying out a few other breeds this year, too. I have high hopes for the Dels.
