~The Threat of The Shadows~ A Warrior Cat RP

Pigeonflight smiled "That's great! Batfang can split up from us, I bet we could catch one of those birds!" She seemed completely comfortable with what Breezepaw said while Batfang gave the apprentice a confused and concerned glance.
Breezepaw looked up at Batfang, studying him for a few seconds, seeming unconcerned by his strange glance. She blinked, and a shadow of a smile crossed her muzzle as she picked up the pace to keep up with Pigeonflight.

Mintpetal padded behind Brightcloud, lifting her muzzle to taste the air for prey.

Hickorywing walked forward, uncomfortably aware of the awkward silence that hung in the air between them.
Brightcloud stuck his paw into a crevice between some rocks, and pulled out a mouse, killing it with a swift bite.

Aspenfall twitched his tail and mewed "Who wants to lead?"

Batfang shook his head a bit, chasing away the thoughts of his sister's odd apprentice as he stalked away from them to follow the scent of mice. Pigeonflight kept her nose to the air, a bird in the trees was a bit too dangerous for Breezepaw to hunt, but if one landed on the ground she was confident her apprentice could catch it.

Breezepaw inhaled the scent of the forest; damp earth, sweet moss, dusty leaf-litter, fresh leaves, and the scents of mice and birds. She paused, a bird landing on the ground several tail-lengths ahead. She turned her gaze to Pigeonflight, silently asking her mentor if she should catch it.

Aspenfall nodded and started walking up the slope.

Sunpaw scuffled her paws. He wants to talk now?

Brightcloud purred. "Thanks!"
"No problem," she purred back. She turned her head until she caught a prey scent.

When Aspenfall had gone ahead, he turned to Sunpaw with a sigh. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier."
