You're going to hit that in no time!

Nice! You're flying along! Ok! I went to Total Conditioning n Monday, then went to Crossfit: WOD (workout of the day) 7 rounds of 7 thrusters (65lbs), 7 ring dips. Tuesday, Crossfit WOD: 15 minute AMRAP (as many reps as possible): 5 power snatches (65 lbs), 4 jumping lunges, 3 push ups, 2 tire flips, 1 burpee. I did 10 rounds. I've weaned myself off any sugary treats from the holidays....I would have to say this was the best year that I've been able to avoid a lot of the sweets!

remember, by composition, men have more muscle than women, and muscle will burn calories faster. They have an evolutionary advantage.

There are fancy descriptions, but a Crossfit gym is much different than a regular gym. (look up Crossfit games 2011....amazing athletes...I'm far from, lol). It's your back to basics functional movements. Workouts consist of different components, almost mix and match: situps, pushups, pullups, toes to bar, knees to elbow, ring dips, running, rowing, box jumps, burpees, kettlebells, jump rope. Weights include: snatch, deadlift, cleans, jerks, etc. So, a WOD can be for time, AMRAP (as many reps as possible), etc. It offers muscle confusion from day to day, so you're constantly challenged. I've actually grown MUSCLES, lol! They scale a lot of things when you're learning technique, if you can't do pull ups, etc. A workout may only be 20 minutes, but it's intense...you may rip through 500 calories. It makes me more accountable to what and when I eat.... Im sure there is probably one near you!

I had one of those awesome days where the workout was easy, easy, easy even though I upped it a bit and went 1.7 miles on the elliptical in half an hour then did weights and stomach exercises.
However now I am back in the house and wanting to eat more and more. Gotta decide what is the limit tonight and stick with it.
I had two pieces of bbq chicken, yogurt, a stick of string cheese and one small cookie. This was b4 6:30 which is my cut off point. I will allow myself an orange later if still hungry, but that is it. Now that I've set my limit I hope I can stick with it.
Maybe I should memorize the encyclopedia to keep my mind off of food

My sister gave me a weight loss wrap that is supposed to help lose weight as it detoxifies the body. Supposed to drink lots of water to help the detoxifying agents work and leave it on for 8 hours.
Might try that tomorrow. I've heard it works, but I am skeptical of anything that isn't exercise/calorie cutting combination.
Who knows, now that I am exercising at a good pace and cutting calories, these things will really help the wrap work.

Well, I think I did real well today. I was going to walk this morning, but had to go to work and when I got back (I drive a school bus), I was zapped!!! So I did some house work and layed down for about 30 minutes. I run a noon route so left at 10:30, ran my second route, and came home. Husband said thought one of my goats was going to have her kids, so I ran out put her in a kidding pen. I didn't want much lunch, so I ate a bowl of rasin bran ceral. Once I finished, I got on the computor for a little while. Then got outside, and went for my walk. I estimate I walked a mile and one half. Took about 40 minutes. I power walked as much as I could. Left at 2:30 to go back to workand run my third route. For supper, I ate one small bowl of white beans,1 piece of corn bread about the size of a slice of pie, and 2 slices of deer summer sausage. That is it for the day. No more food, but I am stuffed anyway. Plan on finishing all my water for the day. If I need something, I have an orange to eat.
I have working on my mind set, and I feel I am going to get this accomplished, I am so happy for finding this thread!!!!! I always new I just needed a support group, and just reading what everybody else is doing is keeping me motivated.

I want to lose weight and get slim!!!!!

Sounds like you did really good today, yay! And kudos to you for accepting a job where you have to go back and forth to it so often.

I did look it up, love it!!! Sounds like PX-90 which I would love to get, but have no private place to work on it. No tv in my barn! I guess I could watch some of the videos and make it up as I go, but to music.

If I had to compare it, I would liken it more to P90X2, which just came out. But its really not a fair comparison, because Crossfit has both muscle building components as well as cardio, while P90x is primarily muscle build, and Insanity is more cardio.

Honestly, I really dig CF, thought I couldn't do it, but they work with you at any level! I like being around people to work out, and you have a trainer at CF to correct your technique.

You mentioned P90x, though....they just came out with a IPhone App for it, if that works better then a full TV! I might as well say, I'm a Team Beachbody "coach" (which basically means I paid for an upgraded membership and get a discount), but I'm familiar with plenty of their DVDs. I throw a free "fit" club in my town because we do not have any group fitness classes, so this provides support, motivation and accountability. Anyhow, we've tried Brazil Butt Lift (favorite so far), 10 minute trainer, Body Gospel,Hip Hop Abs, and Turbo Fire. turbo fire is pretty awesome, and Chalene is very inspirational and motivational.
