It is easy for me to stick to this, because it is broken into 2 1/2 week (17 day) segments. The first 17 days are the strictest, but you lose the weight FAST! Drink lots of water, eat all the lean protein and vegetables you want, no fruit past 2 p.m., and 2 servings of probiotics per day (yogurt, etc.), and 1 Tbsp. of olive oil per day. The second phase, adds in certain other foods, including some starches, like rice and potato, and alternates days of phase 1 and phase 2. The third phase adds in more foods, but also concentrates on portion control. The 4th phase is basically a maintenance phase, so you don't go back to eating whatever, whenever. The author is a family doctor from California, and it is an easy book to read as well as follow. 4 1/2 months he lost 65 pounds and was no longer a diabetic!
His wife lost 43 pounds in the same time. One of my friends lost 45 pounds. I wasn't able to stick with it for long, due to other factors, but in my first 17 days I lost 15 pounds and have kept it off!
I also had more energy than I have had in a long time-due to eating healthier (veggies, fish, chicken, yogurt, fruits, etc.). I love all that stuff, so it was easy to follow, and I wasn't feeling starved!
I also noticed that after 2 or 3 days I wasn't even interested in sweets or carbs!
