*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

"Thank you." Gwen replied politely. "Have you known him longer?"

"It was merely an invitation." Fent replied.

Audric removed his reading glasses and rubbed his eyes. "What is it My Dear?"

Edmund released the thorns after Gwen had passed. "Your father? I was a squire to the castle when I was younger," he said. "So I've lived there almost as long as I lived with my own father."
---
Emilee smiled. "I know. And I appreciate it," she said gratefully. "Shall I wash the tea cups?" She asked
--
Mariah stood and went over to Audric. "Well, since you insist on asking, what will your reply be to Sir Peter?"

Gwen giggled. "Not your father, Emilee's."

Fent shook his head. "No, that is quite all right, I will get them." He said with an over exaggerated cheeriness to his tone.

Audric sighed. "This again? That cannot be what is bothering you. We have already settled this!"

Edmund looked up. "Oh. Emilee's father, a good deal less than your father. Maybe a total of 5 minutes, because I don't include the two hour horse ride alongside him as knowing him," he replied
--
Emilee frowned. "Then let me do something to help," she begged
--
Mariah threw her hands up. "But you didn't give me a definite answer!"

Gwen laughed. "I suppose you cannot answer my question very well then."

Fent shrugged and went to stoke the fire again. "If you insist."

Audric stood and walked around to the front of his large oak desk. "Well I don't see an issue with it."

Edmund chuckled. "I bet I can guess what you're thinking," he said. ---

Emilee clapped her hands. She gathered the tea things and put them away, then set the cups in a bucket of water.
--
Mariah put her hands on her hips. "Well they mustn't get married before Edwin marries the princess," she said. "I don't think it appropriate."
--
Linnet's cheeks were rosy red. "Sir Peter has asked for my hand in marriage," she told Serenity.

Gwen stopped, hands on her hips. "And what exactly, am I thinking?"

Fent rolled his eyes. "Are you actually enjoying this?"

"And why not?" Audric asked.
