The Welsummer Thread!!!!

I've perused this Welsummer thread (but not all 1000 pgs!) to find adult male pics to see if the white at the base of the tail is a DQ or not? I read someone's Welsummer site that said they are breeding to eliminate the white feathers at the base of the tail. I know Brown Leghorns have the white and that Welsummer have Leghorn breed history so why are some trying to get the white out of the Welsummer? To differentiate them from the Brown Leghorns? Just wondering. I personally like the bit of white as it traces back to the Red Jungle Fowl but that's just me. Thx for any reply.
I think it might be...may depend on color of tail fluff....may also depend on who is doing the judging and where said judging is being done.

I don't water excessively, but I do use a product called Revive...it's a great poultry based product, and it contains surfactants that reduce the amount of water that I use on the lawn. It comes in both a liquid form and a solid form....I use the solid fertilizer.

We will have to give that a try next year when our grass comes back lol. It's just so pretty. I hope we can keep one with minimal water. Your girls look like they love it too. :)

Interesting 'dried poultry waste'...you'd think you had enough poultry waste on your lawn ;-)

...wonder if the iron helps with the color?
