Happy Chooks, PinkChick,

Thanks for the reply.

I also have some BCM the same age and some had white flight feathers. But, they are gone so I'm thinking this fellers white flight feather is here to stay. Guess I will give him a little more time.
Thanks again.

Search~ The BCM that were the same age very well could have molted out those white feathers after their first big molt. There are some lines of BCM that will have a couple white primaries until the big molt or they gradually turn black. No worries about the white on the BCM until after the molt....if the white remains or comes back after that...then it's not a good thing. Just some info for future reference.

By the way....do you ever have hatching eggs available from your Silver Lakenvelders?

I love the looks of them and would love to have some in the laying flock. I understand they are great layers.

I don't know about them being great layers but I could get some eggs to you if you would like some. Are we talking soon or next Spring?

I had one Welsummer that was a great layer. She died a few weeks back.

I had the oppurtunity to pick up a couple new ones. I bought 2 that are almost laying age, and one that may be about 12-14 weeks.

One I feel confident is 100% Welsummer. The other 2 I have questions about. Both of the other 2 have dark green leggs, not yellow. The oldest has a few feathes going down her legs, not cochin like though. The guy i got them from hatched them from bought eggs. As long as they lay good, gren legs do not bother me.

Can Welsummers have green legs, or could it be something else. If not, I will post pics in another thread.
