(NOTE: no double yolk egg is currently in the possession of the crazy person asking this question - question is purely theoretical in nature. thank you)

so, do double yolked eggs every develop? is it possible to hatch "twins" out of one egg or do the chickies get to big and perish before development is complete?
it seems like it would in most cases be "incompatable with life" but . . . nature is strange.

anyone have any "i hatched a double-yolked egg" stories?

Cyn tried it at the end of last year and made it to the hatching stage I believe but one chick had hogged all the nutrients and neither one made it. We were all on pins and needles and poor Cyn was beside herself, but what an amazing learning experience for everyone. To my knowledge, no one has ever managed to actually get twins to hatch.

there is a thread on here about speckledhen trying to hatch a double yolked egg. it ill develope but is rarly succesful.
