OMG!.....I was wondering what our girls were doing when they hit that position. The ones that are laying eggs now will squat like this when we touch them. Well, now I feel a little better, knowing that it's not just our girls that are acting like harlots

She must think that it's one big handsome roo!
I took the roo out of one of my coops for medical reasons for awhile once and all my girls were squatting when I went out there. They wanted their Freddy back! And he couldn't wait to get out there, either!
When mine started squatting, I would say "Sit!" and then scratch their backs. Now, they squat whenever I say "Sit". You should see the look of non-chicken people when they see this. They really think I trained them to sit!
It is really convenient when I need to check one out, just say "sit" and pick her up.
But now I'm getting a rooster, so do you think they'll stop doing that?
Mine stopped squatting - well, all except for one (another Buff Orpington). She still thinks it's a back-rub up high under her wings. She won't let the roosters touch her. She's very vocal when her back is being rubbed, and all 3 roosters come running over. You've got to bat them away or they will attack whoever is rubbing her back! They are otherwise very nice roosters, but not if they think you are servicing one of their hens!
