Didn't read all this but how about roller skates with a "key" and taking one skate apart and nailing a board to it.

I didn't read all of this either but I remember when my sister(she is 6 years older than me) was going to *junior high* she had to wear skirts. Mini skirts were just a new style. The principle made all the girls kneel on the floor and he would take a measuring stick and make sure the skirts were only such inches above the floor(I think it was 6 but that seems too high). Anyway whomever didn't pass was sent home with a note.

I remember when we got the first color T.V. the serviceman had to come out and do something (later learned it was degaussing) to it with a round magnet thing took about an hour before we could watch it for the first time.

That lasted up until the law banning commercials over 30 seconds was lifted. (late 1980s I think) Then Ron Popeil started Ronco an started paying them to run his infomercials in the middle of the night.

I remember when Mt. St Helens had a rounded top and was several thousand feet higher. And playing outside with friends until mom came outside and yelled your name to come home. Tv's weighed as much as a car and only had up to a 27" screen. Riding in the bed of a pick-up truck. Drive-in movies. And many, many more.
