Things you wish you could say

Yeah he went from laughing and playing around one day to in the hospital the next and in a coma the next 12 days later gone. I’m just really glad we did a family dinner the day before he was in the hospital as it was rare we had family dinners.

About the same as me obviously a bit worse. She has a family friend that understands because he lost his wife last year so it helps her to talk to him.
If you need someone who's been through something similar, let me know. Five years ago I lost the friend that I'd lived with for over 20 years. He got "the flu" and a week later, I'm telling him to call his doctor and nagging him. By the time he finally went in, he went straight to emergency, ended up in a coma and passed away in less than a month.

I’m sorry :hugs

@Patiocoturnix I understand the sudden thing too as well as losing a parent. If you need to talk. My mom passed away in 2021 and it was very sudden and unexpected and we went through a whole rollercoaster of emotions. She slipped and fell down the stairs, hitting her head. She was in a coma for about 2 weeks, woke up and started talking a tiny bit so we had hope, but then declined again majorly and we had to put her in hospice where she passed a few weeks later. All in all, I think it was about 6 weeks of hell. Up and down. So I get it. Not exactly the same obviously. But still. If you need to talk. ❤️❤️❤️

OH!!! And the same day my dad told me she fell, actually the same exact phone call, he also told me he was adopting me a dog. So it was really an emotional rollercoaster. We picked him up literally like the next day or a couple days later, I forget exactly. But yeah.

I remember when you were going through that. I think the dog was to help you with emotional support, and I think he's been that for you. 🫂
