Things you wish you could say

We should officially change the greeter badge to the 'cut & paste club'.
'Cause nothing says 'Welcome' quite like a generic, prerecorded greeting.
There are a LOT of new members each day. If you want someone to greet them with a personalized greeting, why don’t you go right ahead and do that. Otherwise, please don’t criticize people for being welcoming.

I do whenever I have the time.

To me at least, a "copy/paste" greeting is 100x more welcoming than the   hundreds of members who never even glance at the intro threads
There's already enough people to welcome peeps in that particular section. We don't all need to ride the welcome wagon until we're sore.
Frankly, I've seem many times where a welcoming spiel is such a turn off to those that hit the new member introductions with an emergency.

Considering BYC prides itself in being "welcoming" and friendly having a cap on greeters seems very silly.
Personally I read every thread I greet in and adjust accordingly. But I won't ever give advice because I always got the opinion that if you can't give "good" advice the knowledgeable members prefer that you don't offer any at all. Most of the time people with emergencies are directed to the correct forum, because emergencies often go unnoticed in the intro forum anyway.
