There actually was room for the plate, but he was too lazy to actually pull the bottom rack out and look.

I've already put in over 400hrs of OT this year and I looked at the schedule and likely will have another 400hrs OT by end of the year.

Save the $$$ from the OT so that you can retire earlier.

I told a coworker that DH and I planned to retire when he hit 59.5 so we could access his IRA without penalty. He scoffed and said, "You can't retire before you're 62." I said nothing, but in my head I shouted, "Wanna bet!?!"

I quit working long before I could technically retire. It was long before I could take what I wanted to take from my 401K. There are ways to support one's self.
