I told you when they didn't commit to converting you from temp to full-time 6 mos ago that you needed to start thinking about finding a new job. Now that the contract has expired, you know why. You know what your skills are, you are 45 years old, put on your big girl pants and get yourself a new job. You have 3 kids to take care of and Mom and Dad don't need you mooching any more than you do now. Stop expecting everyone else to pick up the slack in your life or you're never going to be able to survive when they're gone.
