I am thinking more a propane insert - but so expensive.

That could work. Or a pellet insert. Personally, I like the self sufficiency though. Don't want to depend on anyone else for heat

Yeah, it is a lot of work, and yeah! it is messy. The self sufficiency is a good feeling, though.

I found that it’s far easier to just pay someone to help out with tasks I can’t do myself or need help with.

This way I don’t have to be disappointed or mad at anyone. I save up my money for things I need doing.

This way I depend on myself.

It's abnormally warm for this time of year. You are burning So. Much. Wood. now. What will you do when you have used up your wood pile and your parents' woodpile and the temperatures are back to "normal," ie 30 degrees colder?

Please, please do not ask if you can buy wood from us. The answer will be no. We cannot supply you with wood, we will not do the work (fell, cut to length, haul) for you for any price.
