YES. last christmas, I got hand lotion and a terrarium. I hated the terrarium, as I had A: gotten the same thing the previous year and B: just given it away to my brother because I never used it. I am autistic. I know so much about body language, facial expression, but I need to be consciously thinking about it to get things right. so, whilst I had a flawless time receiving a gift I truly did not want, I loved the hand lotion, and therefore, looked bored and mildly annoyed, because I was so happy that I forgot to check my face. oh, and the hand lotion thing was the first time I met my dad's girlfriend's extended family.
he basically said nothing until we left, then out of nowhere, he goes "you know, (dad's girlfriend name) and all her family could tell you hated your present. not cool."

I cried.
