Things you wish you could say

There's always one person who no matter what you do, how you do it, they still will try to find something wrong with you.
I felt good today. Felt really feminine for the first time in a while. I normally feel more androgynous. I decided to wear an outfit that matched my style and looked a bit more fem. Got told by one person (who does this a lot) that "I'm finally dressing like a girl."
On Friday I was feeling masculine so I wore pants that don't show off my legs and a hoodie. I was also feeling slightly depressed. He said "You look like a rat. When's the last time you brushed your hair lol" (He acts childish because we're in high school.)
On Thursday I was feeling slightly fem but also pretty androgynous. Called me out for "Looking like a femboy, what's next, wearing cat gloves?" I'm so tired and every time I think that I look nice or that my outfit is cute, he brings it down. This needs to stop. People should be comfortable in clothes. Clothes are not gendered. Clothes are not for you, they are for the person wearing them. Clothes are not an invitation. Clothes. Are. Not. A. Person.

I'm so sorry this is happening.

Look for the song, "Hold Your Head Up," by Argent from the early 1970s. Here are the lyrics:

And if it's bad
Don't let it get you down, you can take it
And if it hurts
Don't let them see you cry, you can make it

Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head high
Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head up, woman
Hold your head high

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

(Repeats the chorus, many times)

Remember, that creep is the one with the problem. He is very insecure, and the only way he can make himself feel better is by belittling someone else. For some people, the only way they can feel big or important is by making someone else feel small and worthless.

You give him the power to make you feel bad, and you can take it away. Take it away.

There will always be mean people and people who think that they're giving good advice without realizing how it sounds to the recipient. I lost count of how many times I was told "You'd be really pretty if you wore makeup," when I was younger.

“Don’t ask the same question and expect a different answer.”
Exception: things that change over time. For example, "Is my pullet old enough to lay eggs?" or "Is my watermelon ripe yet?" might be answered no at one point and yes at a later point (if you wait long enough before asking again. If you ask again in 10 minutes, the answer will not have changed yet.)

Other exception: things where different people commonly have a difference of opinion, such as "Which dual purpose breed is the best?" That one gets a different answer if a different person sees it the second time.

But I agree that for most questions, asking it again will not get a different answer.

My annoyance is mostly directed at those that ask five times within as many minutes. :p

And most of those people right now are trying to cover their wrinkles with even more makeup, or thinking how old they look!

It makes me laugh, now, that their obsession with how I looked was just an effort to make me conform.

Didn't work then, either. 🤣

As @MaryJanet put it, make up is a oppressive industry, trying to make women who don't use it bad. At least that's what I think she said, I may be mixing this up though.

Sounds like something I'd say.

It's an industry and its side effect is keeping people vain. Every time I see a woman wearing no makeup, I see courage and contentment.

This is how I describe make up:

You know when you're out on a sunny, warm fall day raking leaves, and the wind is blowing, and you're sweating, and dust is blowing around, and it's pastered all over your face and your arms, and you can't wait until you can get in a shower and wash all that stuff off?

That's what make up has felt like the few times I've worn it.
