Spring-boarding off @azurbanclucker's bad night...

I'm sorry, but dog people can be the worst. And this is coming from someone that had dogs for a decade. They don't train them, they don't clean up after them, and they neglect them (both with medical needs and socialization). I'd estimate that maybe 10% of dog owners are actually responsible.

Edited to remove my poor use of absolute language. I see a lot of animals suffering because of selfish people, and it can get me a bit too worked up.

This meeting is the perfect example of why you need to let me run loose and just start fixing stuff. We're walking the same circles we've been walking for years now, because the same people are more interested in padding their resumes with new shiny tools, than actually solving the same problems we've had for 10+ years. You don't get different results when you're reinforcing the same incorrect behavior over and over.

Yes, I'm super crabby. I've been up since 2 am because of the doofus dog next door.

Also, I hope you didn't take offense to my comment (I know dogs are a big part of your life). I guarantee that most people who own dogs on BYC are excellent owners. We're already here talking about chicken welfare, so of course these are the same types of people that will care about their dogs.

Thankfully, or they wouldn't like most people. See how that works? No offense taken - it takes a lot to offend me. The people who left that GSD outside are idiots. His job is to be with/protect his people. It's what his DNA dictates.

The dogs you work are Beagles, right? The one person I knew that had a Beagle left it tied up outside all day. It barked and barked and barked because what else could it do? The dog's miserable. Your neighbors are miserable. Why get a Beagle? Dogs are great. People are just... not great, to put it lightly.
