~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Well.. the person I got the peafowl eggs from contacted me out of the blue.. asked if my eggs were doing anything because every one they set were infertile.. grr...

Once they get some fertile eggs they are going to replace mine.. nothing like incubating eggs for a month only to find out they sent duds... (yeah.. I didn't bother to candle them before now.. lol)
I have to admit though.. this is the first time I have had anyone contact me first to admit that they sent bad eggs... most of the time they like to play dumb about it...

on another note.. the mandarin eggs arrived... along with the peafowl eggs from a different source...

It's unfortunate that the eggs aren't any good. I would be upset! But the fact that the seller contacted you makes me happy that there are good people in this world. I've stuck to purchasing eggs on BYC because I'm afraid of what I'll receive. I've learned so much the past month but I still know next to nothing. I could buy Cochins but receive EE and probably not know for a long time.

Oh I have gotten my fair share of imposter birds.. especially "Jubilee Orpingtons".. have spent way too much on those (way more than I like to admit).. and every thing that hatched out was either a mutt or some other breed.. and none were the Jubilees that I paid for!
That's what I'm afraid of! And you're the chicken Queen- who would dare??

who would dare?... uhm.... greedy people on ebay who steal pics and claim they are their birds?...

yeah... they are almost as good as the people who sell "fertile" eggs yet don't even own a rooster because they don't want "rooster eggs"... (I've dealt with my fair share of those people too...)

Egads. At least they are willing to send replacements.

I need a fainting from exhaustion smilie.

I am so happy, I got three chicks from my first set of eggs (totally scrambled by the P.O. So I think that it counts as a good hatch) one more of that set still looks alive......

And, the second set which arrived in great shape has one out and at least three pips last I looked with lots more good eggs/potential eggs to go! Seriously! I still have I think 20 good ones!
