I have a broody bantam hen for this hatchalong along with my turkey eggs that are in my bator. She stared setting yesterday morning on I think 5-6 eggs( I need to mark them). She would have been sitting longer but I kept tossing her off the nest and stealing her eggs. I felt bad and gave in lol.

I am setting roughly 60 chicken eggs tonight for this hatch along... I will update with an exact number as I'm not sure how many I can actually fit in the bator

What kind of eggs? And what will you do with so many chicks?

I just moved some of my incubator turkeys under my broody turkey hen. She chose to brood in a phenomenal place (couldn't have chosen better myself) so I don't even need to move her. I had her on a dummy egg for a couple of days to make sure she is serious and tonight took some of the eggs from the incubator (set last Thursday so they're already 6 days along) and gave them to her. She quickly tucked them under her, murmuring her pleasure the entire time. I didn't want to "put all my eggs in one basket" so I left some in the incubator. If she does well with these, I'll give her the other half in a day or so.

Yelp i'm pretty sure i have killed all my embro's I froze them their first night here (my incubator dropped 97F last night) and i cooked them when i was at school (my incubator rose to 106F) i don't get what is going on my incubator what showing a steady 99-100F for almost 5 whole days before i got my egg's now eathier the temp is too high or too low. Does anyone know a person that sells bantams or bantam chicks near dallas texas since my feed store won't order them for me.

Don't toss them yet. I have had them survive drops to 50F & spikes to 116F.

I set 20 more mixed breed turkeys & 18 mallards today...due 5/14.

Count me in. I have 24 in the incubator, a mix of pure Narragansett and others including Black Splash and Blue Slate.

I try to make the birds pay for their own feed during the season when everyone wants them. Then I eat everyone who has been free loading over the winter to help with MY feed bill...LOL

That is so incouraging (the temps). I may get a couple of my Easter HAL to hatch after all.
