Congratulations!

I just moved some of my incubator turkeys under my broody turkey hen. She chose to brood in a phenomenal place (couldn't have chosen better myself) so I don't even need to move her. I had her on a dummy egg for a couple of days to make sure she is serious and tonight took some of the eggs from the incubator (set last Thursday so they're already 6 days along) and gave them to her. She quickly tucked them under her, murmuring her pleasure the entire time. I didn't want to "put all my eggs in one basket" so I left some in the incubator. If she does well with these, I'll give her the other half in a day or so.
I just did the same thing. Love a broody!

That's ok. Took me 3 tries to figure out I had my bator plugged into a faulty outlet this winter.

My temps dropped when I let the wood stove go out, afterall it is mid-April. Fire is roaring again so LG will keep temp correctly.

Yes that is ok!
excellent so I didn't set turkeys (though i just hatched two cute little poults) this time I am hatching eggs from my standard frizzle cochin, they are just a mix of whatever rooster happened to win out, i have 5 roosters so who knows who the dad/dads are. I just hatched one from of these eggs from the easter HAL and it is super cute and I am excited to see what the all the chicks look like, and see if i can guess who the dad is. here is the hen who laid the eggs I just set:

So cute! I have always been interested in the frizzles.

Alright... put me down for 60. They all fit. I know I'm starting early but the eggs couldn't wait to be put in.
Actually….a few days late

(Set date for turkeys was Apr 7th and chickens Apr 14.) But that's okay! I didn't set anything exactly on those dates either. I have turkeys due in 5 days and another batch due May 9th.

Congratulations! Midget White or Royal Palm or ???
