~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Quote: THe mutts taste as good as the pure!! lol

the first one that hatched looked black.. how I managed to get black from buff X sweetgrass I'll never know.. so time will tell once he feathers out
the second one looks more tan (gotta wait for him to fluff).. third is probably out by now.. just haven't bothered to check (yeah... I don't get excited about a hatch... just been doing it for too many years.. don't shoot me guys).. AND all of these weren't due for another day or two... so I hadn't done a darn thing with humidity BUT it was VERY stormy yesterday and last night with windows open (hey.. it was warm here).. so there ya go.. mother nature took care of it for me!

So if I understand correctly, a person can gather eggs from a chicken for about a week and then set them. Can this be done as well with turkey eggs m I'm trying to get some and the local person only had a trio alms doesn't get many each day.

I usually collect my turkeys over a 7-10 day period. For this hatch along for instance I am collecting over a 10 day period.

I don't get excited about the hatches either-- my kids and husband do!! " MOm there's chicks!!" I do know, after all I hand turn . . . lol

Okay, all- I'm here- trying to catch my breath!!

I haven't gone back to review what all has gone on since I was here last, but really quick: I have a couple dozen mixed eggs from a pen with:

1 Black tom, 1 Bronze/Red tom, 1 Royal Palm tom
1 Bourbon Red hen, 1 Bronze/Red hen, 1 Holland White hen

Anyone still need eggs?
