DH thought he was a dominiker (excuse spelling), but then said he did not think so. I told him I would bring it to the group perhaps someone could identify him. He was constantly moving so I didn't get a good photo of him. Can try again, if necessary. He is soooo fat and cool. We hope he'll contribute many chicks for us.

Could you get a better pic of his comb? It has me fascinated. He appears to be a barnyard cross.

With a straight comb, he is not a dominique. He's probably a black sex-link rooster. Barred rocks roos have two barring genes and except for a quite rare exception, are much much lighter in color.

Black sex-link are barred rock hens with a dark rooster, maybe production red if from a hatchery. If he is BSL, he will NEVER produce sex-linked offspring.

He's a mixed breed rooster. His color is barred with a LOT of red leakage.
