This Makes Me Cringe...

Ok I confess I only read the first two pages of this post...

in my opinion.... Fast Food Is Poison.

I have 6 kids and feel like I feed them reasonably healthy food. I cook most things from scratch but we do eat chips, snacky foods and an occasional fast food run. Everyone knows Mc D's is not healthy but once in awhile...when in a hurry..

I have been working really hard to address all of my chickens health and vitamin needs. I have done lots of research about what they need. I feed them layer pellets but supplement with lots of other foods that are good for all different things (ie. feathers, egg shells, egg production) I even go to the health food store to buy stuff for the chickens.

The other day my mother saw my Vit. B rooster booster in the cupboard and she commented "do you give your kids vitamins?". And then I realized that I was so concerned with my chickens health and specific nutrition needs, what about my families needs? Were they getting the proper nutrition? I would never give my chickens fast food left overs... why would I let my kids eat fast food?

So then I vowed... I would not ever again feed my children fast food just because it is easy.

Just my two cents on the subject..

I say cook a meal and bag it.Then toss in a dollar store toy! Lol, seriously though those burger meals are such a waste. I recall the last time I got 3 and it was almost $12. I kept telling the kids,"Do you realise how much REAL food we could have bought with $12????"

Anyone ever do bento meals? Now some of those stuff looks soooooo cute.Just regular good food that looks nice.Just the other day I was talking about how there used to be BLUE ketchup at the store.Kids asked why and I said, "Because they think it will be a hit with kids."

I like my boga burger and sweet potato fries. That is my fast food.I will admit though that I might snag a slice or 2 of pizza when I get it for the kids.

I am not against people being able to get what they want.I do recall though the numerous studies of countries that introduced fast foods and their populations became fat and had chronic health issues.Makes me think the diet seriously had a big play in it. Now they say more kids in the US have those same health issues when it has never occured in such large numbers before.

Yes they need a sarcastic and a smart a** smiley.

I don't think I've ever read a thread on here that actually stays right on subject. Good thing too. Otherwise most threads would only last about 5 postings and a lot of good information would be passed up as it made it past the front page.
