Hello Mindy,
Well, I know nothing about pied peas (but yours are very beautiful!!!).
But, if you actually want some input about pairings, etc., you should probably start a new thread, as your questions will be lost here on the "Thora's A Hen" thread.

Hi there, yes I will probably do that. I asked the question kind of as an afterthought, because I get a lot of dark pied hens that look like Thor......a.

I'm sure this is wrong here in the forum but speaking with two large breeders awhile back, what they ( and I originally thought ) a loud pied is in their and my definition is a male who has 100% white eyes, with the entire train being completely pigmented,,,not white. I don't consider my BSSP Peacock Roadtrip a "loud" pied. Although every eye in his train is white,95% of the rest of his train feathers are also white.I do have a up and coming 3 year old BSSP male whose train at this point looks 100% green in color, with 100% white eyes,,,very striking in comparison visually to my older BSSP Male Roadtrip.Thang,my Silver Pied crazy Peacock also has 100% white eyes, but his train is almost all white in color too,,so he is not in my opinion a "loud" pied either.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that alot of us have heard different definitions of alot of terms like this. I truly don't remember who told me the 50/50 thing, but I know the white eyes never figured into it. So you were told a totally different meaning of loud than I was. Shocking, I know. In the last 6 months I've heard 3 different definitions of silver pied from 3 different pea owners. I always thought Silver had to show the correct phenotype as well as genotype, but from what I've read on here these past few days, it looks like that may not be the case. So confusing.

I used the term loud pied here before i also ment it to mean a 50/50 color verses white , same as in an overo paint horse with lots of white verses color, always called those loud

Yes, that is exactly what I think of when I think "Loud". Thank you, good to know I'm not the only one. Mindy

He's beautiful Pied peacock. Opal, because Opals have many colors mixed and some are white mixed with color.

What is an opal? As in what are you saying is opal?

I will just admit I was wrong and learn from it! Hint hint
