I have seen it before, not since my first few silkies years ago..when i had no clue what a good silkie was supposed to look like. At first I thought the silkie had suffered some type of injury lol.

Silkies that have a stubby, nail-less toe ...any ideas what causes this..other than having some mixed breeding in the background...Ive seen it passed on for a couple of generations..im assuming this would be a fault?

As long as you're referring to the outer toes, it is not a fault of any kind to not have a toenail present.
