What are your thoughts on linseed oil? Will it protect my chickens from being exposed to pressure treated wood? If not, what can I use other than paint to protect them from the chemicals? I know pt is safer these days but I want them to be as safe as possible.

Linseed oil will work. You can apply 2 coats. It also makes wood water resistant. Be careful with oily rags afterward. They can result in spontaneous combustion and resulting in fire. Your linseed coated wood is safe from spontaneous combustion.

That’s it. You want the boiled, not raw. For the life of me, I can’t remember why, but that’s what you use for wood.
