God knows that spiritual maturity takes time and hes not mad at us because we haven't arrived yet. Keep growing everyday asking him to help you, thats all he expects from us. His love for us is unconditional and is not dependent on our performance....thank God lol

Hi all just checking in. How has everyone been doing? Busy with spring stuff im sure. I got my garden planted and growing, got 3 new baby chicks out in their coop. Introducing them slowly to the big girls with my supervision. Had to send my Rooster to dinner with a friend of mine, his floggings were getting out of control. The girls don't seem to miss him and going out to the yard to see my girls is much more peaceful. Well check in if you have time would love to hear what everyone has been up to.

You're right, I've been pretty busy over here! I just put four goose eggs and the incubator the other day. It'll be my first time I've ever tried to hatch anything so I'm a little apprehensive but excited!
I had a little bit of tragedy with my duck flock. One died and there were no obvious symptoms, like discharge, acting strangely, wounds, etc. The next day one of my other runners couldn't walk properly. Isolated her and babied her for a couple days and she's back to normal, thank God! I had moved their temporary fencing a couple days before this happened. I didn't know they could get botulism from standing water, which the new area had. I'm wondering if maybe that was the cause, but I don't know for sure. Everybody else looks good, though! 👍
Sorry the rooster didn't work out. It sounds much more peaceful without him, though.
My parents are going to make a trip out here from New York for my birthday next week. I am very excited to see them and for them to see our homestead for the first time. I'm in a bit of a tizzy trying to get things ready. :wee

I've never hatched anything either, that is so exciting. Please post some pics for us when they hatch! So sorry about your ducks, losing an animal is always sad. I pray you find the reason so you can prevent problems in the future. The standing water could be the culprit. God bless you and all your flocks❤

We've been doing good. Just hatched 9 chicks with a broody hen, 6 of them are easter egger mixes and the others are unknown (Maybe one of them is barred rock from the wing coloring)

Then, in 6 days, 6 more eggs are due for hatching under another broody hen.

We bought chicks at TSC for our friend who asked us to grow a few for him. The TSC requires a minimum of 6 chicks, so we had to buy 6. We are keeping 3, and giving away 3. They are almost fully feathered and ready for pickup to their new home!

We've got many broody's that we're trying to "break"...
we dont need any more chicks :) lol

Good morning! It's been crazy busy, which is normal, things might slow down the start of July for me (job change), it will be the first slow down in 7 years so I'm looking forward to that possibility!

I hope everyone has a blessed day, God is in control!
