The English variety of Hamburg (Gold Quill / Pencilled). This was a strain of OEPF (Old English Pheasant Fowl, which are Quill / Pencilled), until it had Danske Totleger (Dutch Ever-layer; the solid colors) Blood introduced, and then finally Turkish Hamburg (Turkish fowl, which are Spangled) were introduced, but although they were very closely bred, they were / are still distinct. Hamburgs as we typically know them are the largest, spangled variety, and Solid Hamburgs are the BBS varieties, which are medium sized and thicker, physically, and the English Bolton is the smallest and flightiest of the Hamburgs.
