Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Um... wow. I would hope that the one you just bought would be correct.

well the one that FINALLY came in is from china
has been in travel for 4 weeks.
and said the temp was 80 (my thermomoter say 99.5)
and humidity was 90% (went to that and the temp within 2 seconds )
and the tsc one once again says 63% humidity and temp of about 101 or 102.

so im just takin the chinese one out

Celtic, thanks for the tip on the brooder. Hubby's head is swimming with ideas and busy making all sorts of things for the ducks to be.

CG, at one point I had 5 thermometers and 3 hygrometers to measure humidity. I picked the ones that matched up. I have had great luck so far with accurite digital therm/hygro combo. I got them at Home Depot for $12 each.

Julie, how are the eggies doing??

They all still look good. I have my humidity at 70%. trying to keep it there until pips. I can see one goslings beak nosing around the membrane at the air cell, so maybe I'll get a pip soon.

Right on! I have my humidity at 71% now. Looks like they should be externally pipping soon. They are chirping, vibrating, and rocking a lot!

Hey peeps! Keep updating your posts as I'm living vicariously through you at the moment.

I have at least 1 Red laced Blue Wyandotte that has internally pipped. The other 3... ?.. Not due til tmw though.

Oh, my hubby calls today from work and says, "I was thinking this weekend we could get the chicken run built and what else are you needing done for the ducks?"

I was like...

I will be breaking the news about the Sebbies to him.. maybe tonight, if that good mood continues into the evening. Maybe I should make him a nice home cooked dinner "Grandma Taylor Style". He loves those.
What to make.. what to make..

(I also ordered 6 Silver Anconas from Plum Run, and I'm bidding on these Saxony's on Ebay..) Yikes!

Ok that's all. I'm off to TSC for some feed. See ya in a bit.

Just tell them they are big ducks. They accidentally got left out when your appleyard's shipped.
If you plan on keeping doing staggered hatches an lg or hovabator is a great idea. Don't count on being able to see much through the windows though, they fog up.
