Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Good morning everybody. I have missed you all so much but I am getting much much better. I think I am through the worst and am on the mend. I got all my eggs yesterday . It was eggciting unwrapping the 3 boxes I received. I got 24 assorted silliest chicken eggs, 12 Silver Appleyards, and 12 blacks and blues Cayuga. All had some form of detached air cells. I hate shipped eggs. Out of the 17 WH eggs I received before only 6 were fertile. Only 3 of the German chick eggs were fertile but it looks like all 4 of the goose eggs are going strong. I can see them bobbing their little bodies around. One big question though, the air cells, which are detached, seem to be getting bigger. What can I do to slow that down? Higher humidity? I am at around 65% now. Let me know . I will be on off and on today. We are supposed to start getting some pretty has weather today. Rain and then possibly up to anywhere from 2-8 inches of snow. Talk to you soon. Miss you all and I have not forgotten any of you.

That's hilarious! (About the audience). Mine just look at the girls like.. ."What do you want?.. I don't get it.. What?!"
that what my boys use to do .
they got the hint tho.

It's the one that's 5 days old. One of the baby babies.
hmm i dont know.
i know sometimes it depends on the bedding.
and some of ours have the issue bcuz they refuse to roost .
maybe he/she will grow out of it as it gets taller.
just make sure it doesnt cover its vent

Yay!! I hatched 2 Blue laced from WHF today. One ended up being a splash.
and they are sooooo adorable

and omg theres alot mroe veining on those 2 eggs now.
like overnight,
im amazed.
it went from about an inch in diameter to like 3 inches (branching out from the red dot)
but still nothing in the rest =/

CG: It's crazy what can happen overnight! That's why when I question one, I wait another day.

I'm down to 4 Appleyards. Had one quit on me. It's kinda sad when that happens. I could see the blood line starting to form, but the little baby was just moving around like crazy, and now... it's gone. Sorry if I'm sappy, I just hate that though. It's easier when they just don't start at all.

Oh CG: I googled poopy butt and it can be a nutrient issue in young chicks.. which doesn't make much sense considering... she's a baby, but I grabbed some Sav A Chic so we'll see if that helps. Honestly though, this little chick was kinda puny since it hatched.

I didn't get the Sebbies yet... they are still in my cart. I don't know what to do so I slept on it. So now I'm awake and still don't know what to do... LOL.

Putting my Sebbie eggs in the bator now!!

SM: We are pouring down rain here. It's super nasty out! Glad you're feeling better. Take some vitamins to get you through the depressing weather. Specifically Vitamin D!

Good morning, hatching friends! I am so glad to have gotten a good night's sleep. Hatching duckies is EXHAUSTING. lol

All 9 are doing great this morning in the brooder. My ancona is showing some light markings and the last ducky that hubby had to help hatch is doing great! Hubby named him Caboose and declared him to be his favorite. The 2nd picture is Caboose:

cuteness overload.
i can't wait for mine!!!!.
grrr only like a billion more days!haha ok like 22 more days or sumthin like that. but still thats an eternity.

on a side note i think they cat and dog have lost their minds, the dog chases the cat in the bedroom , she jumps on the bed, and he turns around and runs out and she follows hot on his tail. & repeat. over. and over. and over again. for the last 10 minutes

. I had to switch some medication and my doctor had me taper off my old one. It must be even harder to go cold turkey. Just remember we are all thinking good thoughts for you and we are here for you
